Project Overview
This project aims to increase the adaptive capacity of smallholder farming communities in drought-prone areas of Bay and Lower Shabelle through localized climate data and digital extensions.
The Challenge
Unpredictable seasonal rainfall and frequent dry spells severely reduced crop yields and increased farmer vulnerability to economic shocks.
Project Objectives
1. Establish automated weather advisory updates via Sabuul v1.0 SMS & App. 2. Train 50 field extension agents on climate-smart soil and water conservation. 3. Improve crop survival rates by 35%.
Our Approach & Activities
Sabuul combined satellite vegetation tracking with ground-based agro-meteorological stations to push actionable alerts directly to registered farming groups.

Installation of 6 localized weather micro-stations
Development of Somali-language SMS advisory modules
Capacity building workshops for 1,200 lead farmers
Impact assessment survey across 4 districts
